World's Only Voodoo Blue Porsche 918 Martini To Be Auctioned

The world’s only Porsche 918 Spyder painted in Voodoo Blue is heading to Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction on October 19-21.

For the past two years, the unique 918 has been displayed at the Rock and Roll Car Museum in Texas and will cross the auction block with less than 1,200 miles on the odometer. While the reserve hasn’t been made public, there’s a very good chance this could become one of the most expensive 918’s sold.

As the images show, the car hasn’t been fitted with the desirable Weissach Package but following its delivery, it was completed with a styling black, white and grey Martini livery to ensure it stands out even further. The hypercar is also particularly special because it has silver brake calipers instead of the Acid Green calipers fitted to most 918’s.

As with any other 918, there is a 4.6-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine located directly behind the seats. That potent powertrain is mated to a pair of elec…

We Hope So, Are You A New Audi R8 GT?

Well, well, well... what do we have here? Looks like an Audi R8 to us, but not just any R8. Looks like this one's packing some secrets.

Spotted by our guys at CarPix while undergoing testing, this R8 prototype resembles any other up front, but like an octane-fueled mullet, the back end tells a very different story.

Aside from the fresh set of split-five-spoke wheels, we can discern through the camouflage wrap covering the tail that this black Audi supercar has much bigger exhaust tips.

And what's that from which they're protruding? Looks like a bigger diffuser, and above it – below the lights and behind the license plate – a large mesh grille for venting extra hot air out of the engine compartment.

All those signs point towards a more hardcore version of the Ingolstadt's flagship, potentially to revive the R8 GT nameplate. We can't help but wonder, though, what's lying beneath. A more powerful version of the …

U.S. Traffic Deaths Climb 5.6 Percent, 10K+ Killed Due To Not Using Seat Belts

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has revealed the number of traffic deaths last year increased 5.6 percent to 37,461 fatalities.

Despite a decrease in the number of fatalities related to drowsy and distracted driving, the report said there was an increase in deaths related to "reckless behaviors" such as speeding, not wearing seat belts, and drinking and driving.

In particular, there was a 2.2 percent decrease in the number of distraction-related deaths but it still resulted in 3,450 fatalities last year. The number of deaths related to drowsy driving also decreased 3.5 percent to 803 fatalities.

The other numbers aren't nearly as good as there 10,497 fatalities related to drunk driving and 10,111 fatalities related to speeding. These represent increases of 1.7 percent and 4.0 percent, respectively.

Perhaps the saddest statistic is the fact that there were 10,428 fatalities last year due…

2018 Toyota Century Is A Modern Flagship With Old School Styling

Toyota has taken the Century into its third generation by unveiling the new model ahead of its public premiere scheduled for the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.

Still limited to the Japanese market, the flagship saloon carries an evolved styling, albeit on a larger scale, as it's now 5,335mm (210in) long, 1,930mm (76in) wide, and 1,505mm (59.2in) tall, with a 3,090mm (121.6in) wheelbase.

Despite the classic look, the 2018 Toyota Century is equipped with the brand's latest technologies. The list is long, and it has yet to be fully detailed, but it does count adaptive projector LED headlights, specially tuned suspension, which, in combination with the newly developed tires increase the ride comfort and reduce road vibration, active noise control system, and the Safety Sense P driver assistance equipment.

Having a larger footprint means that its interior is roomier than ever, and it comes with plenty of gadgets, including two individual rear seats, which can be controlled via a large LCD…
